Driver-Assisting Technology for Indianapolis Drivers

The Altima and Maxima offer state-of-the-art driver-assisting technologies to give you peace of mind and help prevent an accident from occurring.

Nissan Intelligent Mobility is a suite of advanced systems available in both vehicles and includes...

  • Blind Spot Warning: An indicator will appear in the driver's or front passenger's door when a vehicle is detected in your blind spot.
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert: When in reverse, this feature will warn you when a vehicle is approaching from either side of the vehicle.
  • Intelligent Cruise Control: This system maintains a set speed and distance from the vehicle in front of you. Even if traffic slows down, your car will remain at that set distance.

Another feature in the Nissan Maxima trims is the available Intelligent Around View® Monitor. It uses four cameras to give a 360-degree bird's-eye view of the vehicle, with selectable split-screen close-up views of the front, rear, and curbside. It also gives an on-screen alert when it detects moving objects near your vehicle.

Although the 2019 Nissan Altima has equally impressive safety options, it doesn't offer the Intelligent Around View® Monitor.

Cutting-Edge Features

To stay connected and entertained on your daily commutes, the Altima and Maxima have several available high-tech features.

The Altima has a 7-inch multi-touch control color monitor, while the screen in the Maxima is eight inches. Both vehicles have Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ to connect your compatible smartphones to the vehicles and access your favorite apps. But while they're available in the Nissan Altima, they come standard in the Nissan Maxima.

However, the Altima does come standard with Siri® Eyes Free. With this feature, drivers can use voice commands to make and receive calls, play music, set reminders, and more.

Unfortunately, Siri® Eyes Free isn't available in the Maxima.

But both vehicles come standard with a Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System and have 3-month trial subscriptions to SiriusXM Traffic™ and Travel Link® (which are available in the Altima and standard in the Maxima).

Interior Comfort

Nissan Maxima Interior

Both vehicles comfortably seat five. However, despite the Altima being midsize and the Maxima being full-size, you might find it a bit more comfortable in the Altima.

The Nissan Altima interior has 45 inches of front legroom, 36.1 inches of rear legroom, and 101.9 ft3 of total passenger volume. The Nissan Maxima also has 45 inches of front legroom, but it only has 34.2 inches of rear legroom and 98.6 ft3 of passenger volume.

And if you need room to fit all your groceries, luggage, or other items, the Altima has a 15.4 ft3 trunk. The Maxima, on the other hand, has just a 14.3 ft3 trunk.

But both vehicles have available leather-appointed seats, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel. The Maxima also has available cooled seats. And for further comfort, both cars have dual-zone automatic climate control, so the driver and front-seat passenger can set their own preferred temperatures. However, this feature is standard in the Maxima, while it's available in a higher trim in the Altima.
