What is Freon?

For many air conditioning systems, a refrigerant chemical called Freon is used to produce cold air for your car. This compressed gas flows through your air conditioning system and absorbs heat, producing cool air.

In some cases, this chemical can leak, causing problems with your A/C. The act of repairing an A/C unit may be as simple as plugging a leak and refilling your Freon levels.

Why is my Car’s A/C Leaking?

As a car ages, leaks can happen. It’s a common issue that really just occurs from the natural wear and tear of the road. Over time, the rubber seals of the hoses that facilitate the flow of Freon can break down due to corrosion caused by moisture.
