Community Spotlight: Carmel Farmers Markets

They state that their mission is to “organize, produce, and manage fun and exciting farmers markets for the residents of Carmel and the surrounding central Indiana area,” and they certainly live up to that.

A Market for Every Season

There are two different markets, which are open during various times of the year. The Winter Market at The Wire Factory runs from November to March, while the Summer Market on Carter Green typically starts in May and ends in October.

When you think of a typical farmers market, you picture small stands of produce. Here, they elevate that experience. All year round, you’ll have access to local vendors and merchants, live music from local entertainers, and special events.

At the Winter Market, you’ll find food truck stands, freshly made pasta, rare local meats like bison and Wagyu beef, bakery treats, fall-off-the-bone BBQ, and anything else you can imagine. Basically, you can acquire anything you need for every holiday party of the season.

There’s also a selection of hand-crafted cocktail kits from Tailored Toddies, gourmet dog treats from Aw Gourmet Dog Treats, and gourmet oils and spices from Artisano’s, which make great gifts.

Summer Market on Carter Green

When you go to the Summer Market, you can expect to find tons of fresh produce, such as sweet corn, juicy peaches, crispy green beans, and ripe berries.

There’s also a selection of seafood vendors, so you can make light and refreshing meals for those hot afternoons and warm nights.

This is also the perfect spot to find seeds for your garden, for those of you who have a green thumb of your own.
