History Comes Alive on the Cass County Carousel!

In Riverside Park, located at the heart of Logansport, Indiana, lives the Cass County Carousel. Originally built by Gustav Dentzel, a master carpenter from Germany, the Cass County Carousel has undergone many restorations over the years. Considered a National Historic Landmark and the third oldest Carousel in America, the Cass County Carousel continues to attract visitors from near and far.

Travel Through Time at the McHale Community Complex

Consisting of 43 hand-carved animals, this fairytale-style carousel hails from another time. The brightly colored figures burst with creativity and bring imaginations to life. Surrounded by the McHale Community Complex, the Cass County Carousel is accompanied by a historic miniature train. Visitors delight in the 1970s-era train, which includes an engine, coal car, and two passenger cars.

Commemorative Bricks

To honor friends and loved ones, visitors can also choose to purchase a commemorative brick to be placed along the walkway surrounding the carousel. Put yourself at the center of this whimsical narrative and make memories that last a lifetime with each new experience at the Cass County Carousel.

Ride the Carousel & Try to Catch the Brass Ring!

In addition to the joy of riding the carousel, visitors  try to catch a single brass ring amidst a heap of silver rings found in the centrally placed ring chute. With each turn of the carousel, patrons get their chance to reach out for the brass ring. Whoever catches the sole brass ring receives a free season pass to the carousel, with no expiration date.

Public & Private Events at the Cass County Carousel

Annual events like Easter in the Park, Boo Fest, and Carousel Fun Day include a variety of entertainment, music, food, and drinks for the entire community to enjoy together. For private celebrations such as birthdays, graduations, and family reunions, the Cass County Carousel may be rented by the hour.
