Nissan LEAF Reviews

2019 Nissan LEAF ReviewWhen many of the drivers around Indianapolis, Lawrence, and Speedway are asked to think of an electric vehicle, the 2019 Nissan LEAF is the first car that comes to mind. Why? The Nissan LEAF offers all that we’ve come to look for in an EV, from fuel efficiency to a short battery charge time and technology.

Our Andy Mohr Nissan team has created this table of quick facts to help you get started. Once you’ve looked through that, you can either get in touch with us to schedule a test drive or keep reading this guide.

Nissan LEAF: Range & Charging

Up above, we’ve already mentioned the EPA-estimated 150-mile range that the LEAF’s 40-kWh lithium-ion battery is able to achieve.1 However, we didn’t mention that you can also upgrade to a 62-kWh battery, which is actually new for 2019. The upgraded battery would give you an EPA-estimated range of up to 226 miles—that’s an extra 76 miles of driving!4

Nissan LEAF: Range & Charging

You also have several different options when it comes to charging. Here’s an overview of all three of them.

  • Option 1: Nissan LEAF Level 2 Charging. This option allows you to fully charge either the 40-kWh battery in 7.5 to eight hours or the 62-kWh battery in 11.5 hours.3 All you’ll need is the available Level 2 Charging Cord and a 220-240V outlet or a professionally installed wall unit charger.
  • Option 2: Nissan LEAF Level 3 DC Quick Charge. There are thousands upon thousands of public DC Quick Charging Stations across the country, making this one of the most convenient ways to catch a jolt of energy. Depending on how tight your schedule is, you’re looking at either charging your 40-kWh battery to 80% at a 50-kWh DC Quick Charge Station; charging your 62-kWh battery to 80% in 60 minutes at a similar station; or charging your 62-kWh battery to 80% in 45 minutes at a 100-kWh station.3 In other words, there are a couple of choices to fit your lifestyle…
  • Option 3: Nissan LEAF Level 1 Trickle Charge. This option is the supreme route to go if you’re in a hurry. The Nissan LEAF actually comes with a standard 110-120V charging cable, which means that you can plug it into a regular outlet when you’re in need of a quick boost.

We understand that this is a massive amount of information all at once. Please reach out to us with any questions!
