Nissan Rogue vs Chevy Equinox: Transmission Options

You’ll find some impressive transmission options in both the Nissan Rogue and Chevy Equinox. The Chevy Equinox comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This transmission gives you a solid number of gears to work with, ensuring you have smooth performance.

If you want extra smooth shifting, though, you’ll want the Nissan Rogue with its Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission). This transmission is designed to optimize your fuel economy by doing away with gears entirely. Instead, this system seamlessly moves you through a spectrum of shift points, so you have seamless shifting.

In order to give you an even more responsive driving experience, the Nissan Rogue provides standard drive modes, including Eco Mode and Sport Mode. If you want more performance out of your vehicle, you can switch to Sport Mode. Meanwhile, Eco Mode alters your drive response for greater fuel efficiency. Unfortunately, you won’t find a similar feature if you choose the Chevy Equinox.

Nissan Rogue vs Chevy Equinox: Driver-Assistive Capabilities

2021 Nissan Rogue Driver AssistanceIt’s important for drivers to have plenty of help to make sure they stay safe and remain focused on the road.

With both the Nissan Rogue and Chevy Equinox, you’ll be treated to an available bird’s-eye view camera. In the Rogue, this is called the Intelligent Around View® Monitor. With this feature equipped, you’ll be shown a 360° view of what’s around your vehicle for easy maneuverability.

Unique to the Rogue, though, is the available Nissan ProPILOT Assist system. This advanced driver-assistive feature works to automate much of the driving process by allowing your vehicle to guide your steering within the lane markers. It will even slow to match the speed of other cars ahead of you so that you can keep pace with traffic.

Nissan Rogue vs Chevy Equinox: Safety Features

Active safety systems are some of the most helpful features available with today’s cars. With the Nissan Rogue and the Chevy Equinox, you’ll be equipped with a standard Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection system. This feature can automatically bring your vehicle to a stop if your SUV detects a potential collision.

The Nissan Rogue takes this feature a bit further with the standard Rear Automatic Braking feature. This system can bring your vehicle to a stop if you’re nearing an object behind you. This is a huge help if you’re reversing into a parking spot and are getting too close to a parked car or another object.

You’ll find that the Nissan Rogue offers additional features, such as a standard Intelligent Trace Control. This feature uses sensors to help guide your vehicle along curves in the road, allowing your SUV to apply brake pressure to achieve a smooth turn.

Remote Engine Start Systems

When you’re getting ready to hit the road in the morning, it’s nice to be able to warm up your vehicle before jumping in. The Nissan Rogue and Chevy Equinox both offer available Remote Engine Start Systems. This technology lets you start your vehicle with the press of a button on your key fob.

The Nissan Rogue is a bit better equipped than the Chevy Equinox thanks to its Intelligent Climate Control feature. This system can automatically adjust the cabin temperature in response to the outside temperature. This makes sure your car will be nice and comfortable when you hop inside.

Premium Audio Technology

2021 Nissan Rogue DashboardWho doesn’t love to put on some good music when heading out on a long trip? The Chevy Equinox offers an available Bose® premium audio system with seven speakers. This speaker system will deliver detailed audio, so you can hear your music like never before.

You’ll find that the Nissan Rogue offers an even better audio system thanks to its available Bose Premium Audio System with 10 speakers. With the extra speakers at your disposal, you’ll enjoy a much richer listening experience in this SUV.

To add to your utility, you’ll find that the 2021 Rogue and 2021 Equinox offer impressive cargo space.

The Chevy Equinox is a big help on grocery trips thanks to its standard 29.9 cubic feet of cargo room behind the second row. Once the back seats are folded, that volume increases to 63.9 cubic feet.

To provide drivers with more versatility, the Nissan Rogue is here with 36.8 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row. Lower the 60/40-split folding rear seat, and you’ll be working with as much as 72 cubic feet of space behind the first row.
