AVAILABLE DRIVER-ASSISTANCE FEATURES

DRIVER-ASSISTANCE FEATURES

It never hurts to have a little help from time to time. The Nissan Rogue and the Ford Escape both offer advanced driver-assistance features.

Both of these SUVs provide a standard blind spot warning system, which gives you extra awareness on the highway. This system keeps you aware when a car is next to you in the other lane. If you want the peace of mind of always safely changing lanes, this feature will be your guide.

The Rogue ups the ante a bit by providing the available ProPILOT Assist. This is a system that manages your speed to keep your vehicle at a set distance behind other traffic, while also guiding your steering. This is great for drivers looking to reduce their fatigue when spending long hours on the highway.

Another unique feature offered by the Nissan Rogue is the standard Intelligent Trace Control. When you’re rounding a corner, your vehicle can automatically manipulate the brakes to give you optimal handling around the bend. This means you'll enjoy a much more easy-going ride, even when you’re taking on tighter turns.

NISSAN ROGUE VS FORD ESCAPE: SAFETY ENGINEERING

SAFETY ENGINEERING

Of course, your safety isn’t exclusively up to the advanced driver-assistance features found in both of these vehicles—it's also all about the engineering of these SUVs.

You’ll find a full set of airbags lining the cabins of the Nissan Rogue and the Ford Escape. This will give you the cushioning you need to stay safe during a collision.

One of the ways the Nissan Rogue aims to take your safety even further is through technology, like the Zone Body construction. This engineering technique, unique to Nissan, is designed to allow your vehicle to give way to force through specially designed crumple zones, so passengers are less affected during a collision.

Another great way these vehicles aim to make your life easier is by providing you with a standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System. This technology will monitor the tire pressure in each tire, so you know when it’s time to top off the air.

Refilling the tires with the Nissan Rogue is easy, though, with its unique Easy-Fill Tire Alert. This technology allows your vehicle to honk the horn when you reach the recommended air pressure for your vehicle. Unfortunately, you won’t find a similar feature, if you choose the Ford Escape.

For more peace of mind, you’re going to want to go with the Nissan Rogue.

NISSAN ROGUE VS FORD ESCAPE: INFOTAINMENT TECHNOLOGY

INFOTAINMENT TECHNOLOGY

If you need a vehicle that can keep you informed while you’re on the go, the Nissan Rogue and the Ford Escape both have you covered. These SUVs give drivers infotainment systems that allow them to easily stay on top of important information, while also having simple access to entertainment.

The Nissan Rogue gives drivers standard access to Android Auto™ and available wireless Apple CarPlay®, which are designed to integrate your phone with your car. Once you have your phone connected to this system, you can listen to music and set navigation directions on your phone and have them projected onto the infotainment screen.

Unfortunately for the Ford Escape, this vehicle comes standard with a SYNC® infotainment system that doesn’t give you Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™. If you want a more comprehensive system, you’re going to have to upgrade to the available SYNC® 3 system, which only comes in the higher trims of this SUV.

NISSAN ROGUE VS FORD ESCAPE: DIMENSIONS

There’s nothing like having a spacious interior to give you and your passengers the comfort you deserve on long drives. Luckily, the Nissan Rogue and the Ford Escape are both very roomy vehicles that give you the space you need to stretch out when you want it.

Both of these vehicles can comfortably seat up to five passengers. However, where they really differ is in how much room they give everyone. Inside the Ford Escape, you’ll be working with a total passenger volume of 104 cubic feet. If you choose the Nissan Rogue, though, you’ll enjoy a total passenger volume of 105.4 cubic feet.

As the driver, you’ll have a lot of space available to you inside the Nissan Rogue. This vehicle gives you 41.1 inches of front headroom and 43.3 inches of front legroom. Compare this to the Ford Escape, which only gives drivers 40 inches of front headroom and 42.4 inches of front legroom.

CARGO DIMENSIONS

CARGO DIMENSIONS

When you’re loading up your SUV with everything you picked up on your errands, you want to ensure that you have a large enough cargo area. The Ford Escape is able to provide a good amount of space, with 34.4 cubic feet of volume behind the second row. If you fold down the back seats, you’ll have up to 65.4 cubic feet of volume at your disposal.

However, the Nissan Rogue interior provides you with a bit more space, with as much as 36.8 cubic feet behind the second row. Make use of your folding back seats and you’ll be able to expand that volume all the way up to 72 cubic feet.
