Nissan Rogue vs Rogue Sport

Nissan Rogue Rogue Sport

The Nissan Rogue has been a highly regarded crossover SUV for years. There are various trim levels to choose from for this model. However, there is also a separate, similar model that Nissan has made. The Nissan Rogue Sport offers some differences from its cousin, however, which our team here at Andy Mohr Nissan has detailed below.

See our comparison of the 2020 Nissan Rogue vs. Rogue Sport to see which SUV might be the better choice for your daily drives around the Indianapolis, Lawrence, and Speedway, IN, areas.

What’s the Difference Between the Rogue and Rogue Sport?

Nissan Rogue vs. Rogue Sport Interior

The main difference between the Rogue vs. Rogue Sport is overall size. The Nissan Rogue is a bit larger than the Rogue Sport. Overall, you can look at the Rogue as a family SUV model, and the Rogue Sport as a compact city SUV.

With its larger shape, the Rogue offers more room inside. The 2020 Rogue has 105.8 cubic feet of passenger volume for its five seats. The Rogue Sport can also fit five passengers, but it has an interior passenger volume of 96 cubic feet. This is still comfortable for you, though, with 39.6 inches of headroom and 42.8 inches of legroom up front, but it isn’t quite as spacious as the 2020 Rogue.

The Rogue can also fit up to 70 cubic feet of cargo volume, letting you haul larger items in this SUV. The 2020 Rogue Sport can be configured to hold 61.1 cubic feet of cargo volume.

Performance of the Rogue vs Rogue Sport

Nissan Rogue vs. Rogue Sport Safety

When it comes to power, the Rogue will outperform the Rogue Sport. The Rogue has a similar EPA-estimated MPG as the Rogue Sport, but has extra horsepower and torque, thanks to its 170-horsepower 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. The Rogue Sport is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, which generates 141 horsepower.

However, the 2020 Rogue Sport offers more responsive driving and better handling. Weighing less, the Nissan Rogue Sport has a sharper throttle response for agile acceleration. Its size, suspension, steering, and drive modes make it a great crossover to commute around the city in.

Features You’ll Enjoy in Either Vehicle

Since both of these vehicles are a part of the Nissan family, they’re equipped with a lot of similar features, including:

  • Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®: Depending on the smartphone you have, you will be able to play all your favorite entertainment, use Google Maps to get to your destination quickly, or use the convenience of talking to Siri.
  • Driver-Assistive Technology: Both SUVs come standard with various features that will assist you in staying safe out on the road, including Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
  • Xtronic CVT®: The Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission) will keep your vehicle in the optimal gear for an extremely smooth delivery of power.

Should I Buy the Rogue or Rogue Sport?

Thanks to its size, maneuverability, and performance, the 2020 Rogue Sport is a great vehicle for driving around downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. However, the ample cargo space in the 2020 Rogue can be helpful when you have a car full of passengers or need to transport items around Lawrence and Speedway, Indiana. In the end, it is a personal preference—and you’ll be happy driving either!
