A More Convenient Drive

Nissan Sentra vs Mazda3When you’re driving down the road, you want information to be easily accessible. That way, you don’t need to look away from the road to see who’s calling or which direction you need to turn next.

The Nissan Sentra makes this easy with a standard Advanced Drive-Assist® Display. This 4.2-inch color display sits right in the instrument panel, where it’s easy to see important information without turning your head.

Meanwhile, if your tires get low on air, both cars will let you know, thanks to a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). That way, you know it’s time to stop at a gas station to fill them up.

The Sentra takes this technology a step further with a standard Easy-Fill Tire Alert. When you're adding air to your tires, this feature will automatically let you know when they’re full. With that neat addition, there’s no need for stopping every few seconds to check the pressure like you’d need to do in the Mazda3.

Personal Space

Whether you’re driving yourself around town or carpooling with friends, it’s important to have enough passenger space to keep everyone comfortable. For a compact sedan, the 2020 Mazda3 is okay in this department: It offers 92.8 cubic feet of total passenger volume.

You and your crew will be more comfortable in the Sentra, though, thanks to 96 cubic feet of passenger volume, which means more front headroom, more legroom, and more shoulder room for everyone to stretch out in.

Still, what if you need to stop on your way home to run some errands? The Sentra trunk can carry 14.3 cubic feet of cargo space, which should be plenty—especially when compared to the Mazda3, which only offers 13.2 cubic feet of cargo volume.

Performance and Efficiency

Nissan Sentra PerformanceWhen you want an efficient ride, the Nissan Sentra and Mazda3 both deliver with impressively efficient engines. With the Sentra, drivers will be working with a compact 2.0L 4-cylinder engine. Drivers who choose the Mazda3 will be working with a larger standard Skyactiv®-G 2.5L 4-cylinder engine.

However, the Sentra engine is more fuel efficient. It can achieve an EPA-estimated 29 city/39 highway MPG.1 Compare that to the Mazda3, which only gets an EPA-estimated 26 city/35 highway MPG. While it may not seem like much of a difference, that small amount adds up over time.
