When it comes to engine performance, it’s really all about what you want to get out of your vehicle. The Nissan Sentra, for example, comes standard with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that produces 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. This engine will allow you to go pretty far thanks to an EPA-estimated 29 city MPG and 39 highway MPG.1
For drivers looking over at the Nissan Versa, you’ll have a vehicle providing a standard 1.6L four-cylinder engine with up to 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. Drivers will enjoy this vehicle for its fuel economy, though, with up to an EPA-estimated 32 city MPG and 40 highway MPG.2
If you’re considering between the Nissan Sentra and the Nissan Versa, it’s good to recognize how the engines serve different purposes. While the Nissan Sentra can see faster acceleration than the Versa, the Versa provides better fuel economy.

One unique feature that the Nissan Sentra gives drivers is an available Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control. With the ability to set two different temperatures for the driver and front passenger, it’s easy to keep everyone satisfied on the road.
With the Nissan Versa you’ll only be working with an available basic Automatic Temperature Control system that doesn’t give you any dual-zone capability. While this does give everyone in the cabin a lot of comfort, it doesn’t offer the same level of comfort that you’d find with the Nissan Sentra.
Safety Capabilities
Safety features are very important inside every car, and the 2020 Nissan Sentra and Nissan Versa are no exception. These vehicles both provide a standard RearView Monitor to help provide you with a clear idea of exactly what’s behind your vehicle. Pulling out of a parking space will be safe and easy with this feature on your side.
To add to this, both the Sentra and the Versa provides an available Blind Spot Warning system. If your vehicle detects that another car is driving in your blind spot, it will warn you with a light on your side mirror. This feature helps keep you safe while changing lanes on the highway or in the city.
If you’re really looking for what sets these vehicles apart, though, you’re going to want to look at this Intelligent Trace Control feature. Offered only with the Sentra, this feature automatically manages your brakes to allow for much smoother cornering. If you really want a smooth drive, you’re going to want the confidence offered by this feature.

Of course, if you’re trying to drive in the city, you want to be sure you’re using a vehicle that’s designed to make tight fits look easy. The Nissan Sentra offers a nice compact body with a length of 182.7 inches and a width of 71.5 inches. You’ll find it exceptionally easy to park while inside this vehicle.
The Nissan Versa, on the other hand, is very slim with a length of 177 inches and a width of 68.5 inches. With this vehicle, you’ll be able to park anywhere you want without much strategic maneuvering.
Interior Dimensions
When it comes to seating passengers and storing cargo, having a larger interior is a huge help. In the Nissan Sentra, you’ll be provided with enough room to seat up to five people with a maximum passenger volume of 96 cubic feet.
Compare this to the Nissan Versa which is a bit smaller with a passenger volume of 88.9 cubic feet. You can still seat up to five passengers inside, but it’ll be a slightly tighter fit. It’s for this reason we’d say that the Nissan Sentra is better for daily commuters.
The Nissan Versa does have a great cargo capacity, though, with a maximum trunk volume of 14.7 cubic feet. If you choose the Nissan Sentra, you’ll have a bit less space with a trunk volume of 14.3 cubic feet.
Should I Get the Nissan Sentra or Versa?
Whether you’re looking at the Nissan Sentra or the Nissan Versa, you’re sure to be pleased by the features that these vehicles provide. If you’re looking for faster acceleration from your car, you may enjoy the Nissan Sentra. However, drivers looking for better fuel economy will likely be drawn to the Nissan Versa.
