The standard engine produces 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque, while the available turbo engine creates 180 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.

Neither of these are a match for the available 2.0L VC-TURBO™ 4-cylinder engine in the 2020 Altima. This engine is able to generate up to 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

• Keeping you aware: Each vehicle has a range of advanced safety features that will help you out when driving. These include technologies that can apply the brakes when the car in front of you suddenly slows down, along with systems that will help you remain focused on the road.

The 2020 Nissan Altima has an additional feature you can get to stay aware of the speed limit of the road. If you are wondering how fast you can safely travel, the available Traffic Sign Recognition feature detects speed limit signs and displays the information onto your dashboard.

• Staying comfortable: When behind the wheel, you’ll be able to adjust your seat in either vehicle to find a comfortable sitting position. You can manually maneuver the driver’s seat in the 2020 Sonata with its 6-way adjustment.

Finding the perfect position is even easier in the 2020 Altima with its 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. This will let you move your seat in even more ways with just the push of button.

Altima vs Sonata: AWD

While both cars come in front-wheel drive, the 2020 Nissan Altima also has the available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system.

This is another big difference between the 2020 Altima vs. 2020 Sonata, since the available AWD system in the Nissan sedan can monitor the conditions of the road and make adjustments to give you the traction needed for a controlled and confident drive.

Without an available AWD system, the 2020 Sonata isn’t able to handle roads that are covered in snow, rain, or ice as well as the Nissan Altima.
