2021 Nissan Altima vs Honda Accord: Drivelines

Drivelines

The Nissan Altima and the Honda Accord are designed with great handling. These vehicles come standard with front-wheel drive systems that provide excellent control while driving along curving roads and clear, open highways.

For increased handling in difficult weather conditions, only the Nissan Altima takes its driveline a step further with an available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system. By applying torque to all four wheels, this sedan improves handling in rain, sleet, and snow.

Additionally, this AWD system is engineered with intelligent systems to manage your torque, so it goes to the wheels that need it most. This way, the Altima will give you the ideal amount of control no matter what, so driving in the snow will be a breeze.

Altima vs Accord: Driver-Assistive Features

Driver-Assistive Features

Sometimes while we’re on the open road, we need a bit of help making sure we don’t become fatigued from driving. To help with this, the 2021 Altima and the Honda Accord both offer available driver-assistive features, which ensure safety as well as comfort.

Among these features is the standard Intelligent Lane Intervention system in the Altima. This system can provide corrective steering when drivers begin to drift from their intended lane. The Accord offers a similar standard feature with the Lane Keeping Assist System.

Unique to the Nissan Altima, though, is the standard ProPILOT Assist system. This upgraded cruise control technology reduces driver fatigue by maintaining a set following distance between you and the car ahead of you while keeping up with traffic.

While this is like the standard Adaptive Cruise Control feature of the Accord, there’s one major difference between these systems that puts the Altima ahead. ProPILOT Assist will also gently guide your steering wheel in accordance with lane markers to ensure your vehicle stays centered in the correct lane.

2021 Altima vs 2021 Accord: Safety

It’s always important to be aware of what’s happening around your vehicle, not just in front of it. To help with that, the Nissan Altima and the Honda Accord offer an available Blind Spot Warning system that alerts you to vehicles driving along your sides.

In addition, the Nissan Altima offers an available Intelligent Around View® Monitor. This extensive safety system, which is like the available multi-angle rearview camera of the Accord, uses multiple cameras along your sedan to generate a bird’s-eye view. This makes parking nice and easy as you know exactly where your car is in relation to what’s around you.

To make you feel even safer, the Nissan Altima is designed with an available Rear Automatic Braking system. It can automatically engage the brakes if it detects a stationary object that you do not see. This is fantastic for when drivers are backing into a parking space.

Infotainment: Nissan vs Honda

Nissan vs Honda

Drivers are busier than ever these days, and infotainment systems help them keep up with everything on their schedules. In both the Nissan Altima and the Honda Accord, you’ll find excellent infotainment systems that will provide you with standard Bluetooth® connectivity and more. It’ll be easy to stay connected with this technology even while focusing on the road.

To help add even more functionality to your infotainment system, these two sedans feature Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. These systems provide access to your phone’s features. All you have to do is connect your phone to the car to access your favorite music, podcasts, and other apps.

You might enjoy the audio experience of the standard sound system in the Altima more than that of the Accord. That’s because the Altima comes standard with a 6-speaker audio system, whereas the Accord comes with just four speakers.

Aerodynamic Centric Design

Centric Design

In order to improve the sporty feel of these vehicles, both the Nissan Altima and the Honda Accord have been designed around aerodynamics. These vehicles are built to cut through the air, so your engine doesn’t have to work as hard. The result is excellent acceleration and improved fuel economy.

In order to offer dynamic performance, both vehicles feature an active shutter grille, which adjusts to enhance aerodynamics as you accelerate. This is standard with the Nissan Altima, while on the Honda Accord, it’s only found on higher trims.

Spacious Interior Design

Interior Design

We can all use a bit of room to stretch out, and both vehicles deliver. With the Honda Accord, you’ll have up to 42.3 inches of front legroom. You and your front passenger will have no trouble settling in for that long road ahead.

To provide drivers with a more comfort-focused design, though, the Nissan Altima offers up to 43.8 inches of front legroom. If you’re after a bit more room for your commute, you’ll have no trouble stretching out and getting cozy when you’re driving this stylish midsize sedan.
